The Jackson County Osteopathic Medical Association is a divisional society of the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS).

The purpose of the Jackson County Osteopathic Medical Association is to serve as a liasion with MAOPS to promote the osteopathic professionand to provide an opportunity for professional camaraderie and support.

Andrew Taylor Still, M.D., in the late 1800's developed the philosophy of osteopathic medicine. Through his extensive study of human anatomy and physiology, he found there was a relationship between structure and function.
